I am commanded by the Army Council to refer to correspondence

which has passed between the Secretary of State for Forei ̧n Affairs (under

reference F.2888/1913/10) and the Secretary of State for the Colonies

regarding payment by the Hong Kong Government for the loan of Aray stores

by the local military authorities and to state that the Council would

prefer that payment should be made by the Hong Kong Government direct to

the local military authorities.

A copy of this letter has boen sent to the Colonial Office.
